Thailand's Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, has revealed that the cabinet has given the green light to a marriage equality bill. The proposed legislation is scheduled to be presented to parliament during the upcoming December session. Despite Thailand's reputation for having an open and visible LGBTQ+ community, advocates argue that existing laws and traditional norms still discriminate against the community. The announcement follows last year's parliamentary discussions on laws related to civil unions and marriage equality, which concluded without a final vote.
