A hailstorm wreaked havoc in Loei's Phu Rua district on Sunday afternoon, destroying more than 200 houses, cars and property, reports said. Hailstones the size of lemons started falling about 30 minutes after heavy rain on Sunday at 2pm.
This was the worst hailstorm in Loei province in decades, according to the reports. Phu Rua district chief Boonterm Renumas said he had instructed village chiefs and officials to promptly help people affected by the hailstorm, clear roads and assess the damage.
