His Majesty the King left Siriraj Hospital on Saturday evening and returned to Chitrlada Palace.
Radio Thailand said the monarch was attending a private function at the palace.
His Majesty had been in the hospital for mor than five months, with a brief break for an audience and public appearance during his birthday. He has appeared in public several times at the hospital.
His Majesty, wearing a pink shirt, left the hospital on his wheelchair. He had his dog Khun Thong Daeng on a leash. He paid homage to the statue of Buddha at the front of the hospital.
